Halloween Decoration Idea – Fun with Chalk and Pumpkins!

O.k. I am soooooo excited to share this idea with you.  I even took how to make pictures and am having so much fun using this already.  Sometimes I hate when you carve a pumpkin and it doesn’t turn out like you wanted and then you have what you have.  Why not change it up a little and have many different faces on one pumpkin?  How, you say?!  Chalkboard paint!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this idea.  You can even use this idea with gourds of various sizes.  The one thing I have to suggest is to try and get a smooth pumpkin.  One with a lot of bumps all over will defeat the purpose of this decoration.  You can also use the craft pumpkins if you want to keep the decoration idea for years to come.  You can even get the smaller craft pumpkins, put some spiral wire going up the stem and attach a picture to the end.  Use these for table place settings and write their name on the pumpkin.  FUN!!!

Here’s what you need:

1 pumpkin, gourd, or craft pumpkin

Chalk board paint or spray chalk board paint

Painters tape

Newspaper

Chalk

I used the spray can of chalk board paint because it goes a lot faster than hand painting them.

Be sure to tape the stem and any part you do not want painted.

Give it a good coverage all over the pumpkin.

After it’s dry, rub chalk all over the paint and then erase it.  This preps it for using the chalk.

Draw any face you want or desire on it.

Erase, and draw again.  I LOVE IT!!!  I put mine on my table and let the kids draw on it.  It’s a great way to keep them entertained if you are needing to cook dinner or do other things.
