Great Hike for Children 10 and up!

I thought it might be fun to let you know about a wonderful hike my husband and I went on this last weekend.  It is unknown to the general public, but such a beautiful place to go.  9 miles outside of Cedar City there is a small town called Kanarraville.  There is a dirt road which starts the way to Kanarra Falls.  The trails are unmarked the whole way but you can’t get lost at all.  Overall the hike was 2.5 hours round trip.  Plan on getting your feet and upper thighs soaked.  I never had the chance to hike up a slot canyon before, but after taking this hike I would do it again for sure.  You get to hike up past 2 small waterfalls and in between the waterfalls there is a perfect set of rock slabs to sit down on in the sun.  If you are daring enough, there is even a small pool right there where you can slide down a moss covered rock right into the cold water.  Brrrrrrr!  If you do take children be prepared to have your feet numb for long periods of time.  Only take them past the first waterfall if they are hardy humans!  The pictures are just a few of the beautiful scenes we saw throughout our time.  Did you know Kanarraville was home to the first all female firefighter team from 1961 to 1968?  I didn’t either.  Fun facts!
